As we’re entering Thanksgiving week, I’ve been thinking about how “interesting” this year has been. And I mean that in the polite way we use to describe things that are not exactly a joyride.
The national noise was intense.
- Inflation nearly made eggs feel like a luxury.
- Political tension was thick enough to spread on toast.
- Economic frictions arose that none of us anticipated.
I’m sure you faced a few trials in your personal life as well.
That said…
Acknowledging the rough patches doesn’t mean we have to set up camp there.
Thanksgiving gives us a sanctioned excuse to shift our attention.
And I’m willing to bet you’ve had a few small (non-social-media-worthy) wins this year.
Maybe you:
Yes, the world gave us plenty to groan about this year, as it does every year. But there were plenty of good things too.
Which is why I appreciate Thanksgiving as a brief moment to appreciate the wins that got you from January to now.
Not in a “rah-rah, everything is wonderful!” way. Just in a grounded, reflective way.
The win I want to give thanks for this year?
You trusting us with your financial life… with the things most people never talk about (and certainly not at the Thanksgiving dinner table).
So thank you.
…For choosing us to be the people you hand your numbers and questions to.
…For letting us help carry the parts of your tax situation that can feel overwhelming.
The MyTaxFella team do not take lightly the privilege of walking with you and your family through job changes, health challenges, unexpected detours, and all the ordinary days in between.
It’s an honor to be invited into that story.
So as you’re pausing with family this week to think about what you’re grateful for, know that you’re on each of our lists.
We are all wishing you a Thanksgiving that offers a moment of calm to give thanks for your small wins (ideally, over a voluptuous helping of pumpkin pie).
Happy Thanksgiving!
