They collected and distributed 5 tons of food last year to non-profit pantries and churches in Northern Ocean and Southern Monmouth counties. Their goal for Thanksgiving this year is to provide 500 families with turkeys and food boxes. In addition, they collect and distribute toys at the holidays and are targeting to distribute 15,000 toys to other non-profit organizations this December. They exceeded 10,600 toys collected and distributed in 2024.

Pound Hounds ResQ is a NYC-based animal rescue devoted to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals from the New York City shelter system and surrounding areas. We believe that every animal deserves a loving home—and finding that home takes thoughtful matchmaking, compassionate care, and a whole lot of heart. We consider each animal’s behavior, shelter environment, and individual needs, as well as the dynamics of the potential foster or adopter’s household, to ensure the best possible fit. We do not operate a physical facility. Instead, we rely on a network of dedicated foster homes who open their hearts and doors to help each animal decompress, heal, and prepare for a forever home. It’s a selfless act that changes lives—both human and animal—and we are endlessly grateful for our fosters who make every rescue possible.

On the west shore of Staten Island is a town called Travis. It is seen at its best on the 4th of July each year. The patriotism that is shown that day is quite evident as the people line the streets to witness this wonderful tradition. We are proud to host one of the oldest, consecutive Independence Day celebrations in the United States. This year we will be celebrating the 116th parade.
